Spring Break (80,000 words) is a comedic romp through Hollywood debauchery about the transformative power of female friendship.
Nichole, 22, grew up in the shadow of her grandmother’s famous boobs, but she's nothing like her international Wet T-shirt champion granny or her estranged porn-star mother. Shy and awkward, she’s happy bussing tables at her grandparents' tavern while studying to be an animal trainer. Or she would be, except her grandfather just died, her grandmother’s finances are in shambles, and her televangelist stepbrother is plotting to seize the tavern’s land for a religious theme park.
Brandy blasts into Nichole’s life presenting a plan for Nichole to follow in Granny's footsteps and win the Wet T-Shirt Super Cup's prize money to save the tavern. Dazzled by her new big sister's self-confidence and bravado, late-blooming Nichole is lured into the genesis of pageantry. Under Brandy's guidance, Nichole conquers her fear of projectile water, but soon realizes her only hope of beating her bigger-breasted rivals is to master Granny's signature move, "The Knack Attack." She persuades Granny to teach her, but on the eve of the big competition, Nichole discovers Brandy is linked to the porn company that exploited her mother.
Did Brandy befriend Nichole just to exploit her, too? Before she can find out, both Brandy and Granny are kidnapped by her stepbrother. Nichole has 24 hours to rescue them, uncover whether Brandy really is evil, and get to the venue in time to win the biggest Wet T-Shirt contest in the world.
The idea for this story was sparked when I competed in a Wet T-shirt contest at a bar on the Colorado River. It was not Spring Break, but Memorial Day weekend, and I was not pushing the bounds of my sexuality, I just had . . .
